If you’re looking for your first camping trailer or considering your next camping trailer, you’ve probably also been asking yourself some questions. The first is likely, “How can I enjoy a camping trailer when the price of fuel is skyrocketing?” An equally important question is, “Will I need to buy a new tow vehicle or can I tow with the existing family vehicle?” You might also be wondering, “How and where will I store it when it is not being used?” The answers to these questions can be summed up in a name—TrailManor.
TrailManor 25th Anniversary 2720 SL Overview
The TrailManor 2720 SL is a solid wall folding camping trailer. The walls and roof are fabricated using lightweight 1-inch polystyrene insulation sandwiched between aluminum on both sides for strength. The coach sits on a 2×5-inch steel frame platform with a 3-inch laminated floor. The underbelly is dressed with metal. Rubber torsion axles feature independent suspension with self-lubricating bearings, electric brakes, and 14-inch tires and wheels.
The 2720SL offers a floorplan that incorporates a living area in the forward end of the unit. It includes a sofa that quickly converts into a bed to accommodate one adult or a couple of children, and a matching recliner that can be moved about as desired. At each end of the sofa are fold-up tables. Unit-wide overhead cabinets with speakers for the audio system are built into each end of the cabinets. The 20,000-BTU forced air furnace is located at floor level adjacent to the sofa. The thermostatic control is located in the galley.
Immediately aft of the living area is the galley. On the street side is a galley counter/cabinet complex that includes a large stainless steel sink with separate hot and cold-water controls. Below is a double door cabinet. To the right of the sink is a counter with a three-cubic-foot three-way refrigerator freezer below. Located above the sink is one of the two previously mentioned removable overhead cabinets. A slider window sits above the refrigerator.
On the street side and immediately inside and to the left of the entry door is a three-burner cook top with large cabinets below. To the right of this is a very large galley counter top with drawers and cabinets below. The second removable overhead cabinet is located above the cook-top. Aft of the counter top is a three-quarter-length wardrobe. It is track mounted and when stowed for travel is moved to the center of the unit on the track. Mounted on hinges it folds over 90 degrees where it is stowed in the center aisle for travel. The queen size bed is located all the way aft.
The bathroom features both a garden tub and a standup shower. A lavvy with countertop and storage cabinets and a recirculating marine-style toilet round out the bathroom features. Exterior storage is accessible from a 23×26-inch rear outside door. On the roof is a low profile 13,500-BTU air conditioner along with two vents that can be manually opened and closed. The 2720SL comes equipped with dual 20-lb. propane tanks, 30-amp shore power and a 55-amp converter with charger for the house battery. An after market receiver hitch mounted bike rack can be added to provide bike carrying capability or a cargo carrier. The roof is capable of carrying over 1000 pounds of cargo with the appropriate kind of mounting brackets and carrier.
TrailManor 25th Anniversary 2720 SL Questions Answered
We weighed the unit reviewed, and with the tanks empty it tipped the scales at 3300 pounds. Even fully loaded with cargo and fresh water it still came in under 4000 pounds. When the 2720SL is folded down in “travel mode,” the top of the roof is just 65.5 inches above the ground, offering little wind resistance when compared to a standard travel trailer, which also helps to provide excellent fuel economy when towing. There are millions of vehicles capable of towing it already parked in driveways across America, so you won’t have to purchase a gas-guzzler to haul the TrailManor 2720 SLSL around.
Storage of your towable RV when you’re not using is very important. Many city and municipal codes prohibit parking any kind of RV in your driveway and most urban properties are not blessed with sufficient lot size to permit storage along side or behind a residence. However, TrailManor has solved this issue. It offers an optional foldable trailer tongue. After the unit has been parked inside a residential garage the tongue swings around, permitting the garage door to be closed.
For 2008, TrailManor augmented its menu of versatile folding trailers (there are eight models) to include a special features package to celebrate the company’s silver anniversary. The 25th Anniversary Edition package includes special graphics, LED marker lights, center stop light, custom graphics, ultra-leather upholstery, a stainless steel grill, faux-marble countertops, wood grain flooring, courtesy door lighting, a 110-volt outlet in the trunk and extra 12-volt outlet.
The TrailManor line of folding travel trailers is made up of lightweight and easy to tow and store campers. The 2720 SL just may be the answer to your trailer camping needs.
