It doesn’t get much better than Minnesota Northwoods Camping in Voyageurs National Park. This park makes you leave your car and take to the water in order to fully enjoy all it has to offer, from lakes and islands to beautiful shore lines, excellent fishing, many hiking trails, winter skiing, and more. Sitting along the Canadian Shield, Voyageurs National Park surrounds or borders four major lakes, and is a big Minnesota  Northwoods camping destination especially for those who enjoy fishing, boating, hiking, and winter activities. Some of the winter activities include ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and more.

There is no entrance fee to the park, although permits and fees are required for some activities, such as boating. There is a $10 per day per boat fee if you plan on boating on the interior lakes. The temps in the summer months average between 60 and 80 degrees. The winter months can get extremely cold with temperature highs struggling to reach the 20′s.

A superb way to experience the park is by taking a guided tour. You can choose tours by canoe or a boat with an engine. If you don’t own your own boat, you can choose to rent a canoe or row boat. Hiking is another popular activity in the park with nine main hiking trails to choose from. There are hiking opportunities for every person from easy strolls to more difficult and extreme hikes. There is an abundance of wildlife in the park including bears, deer, wolf packs, birds, fish and much more. With so many different activities and sights to offer, Voyageurs National Park is a wonderful Minnesota Northwoods camping destination.
